If you're like me, you've never been able to get used to the American version of Iron Chef. Not that the show doesn't have its merits - it's very entertaining. I always found something very cool about all the dubbing that went into Iron Chef Japan. I LOVED that show. I was heartbroken when The Food Network took it off the air.
Well, cry no more, it's BACK. Starting today, May 5th, Iron Chef Japan will be aired on Fine Living Network, weeknights at 11 P.M.!
Check out this video, among many others from Fine Living Network and Iron Chef Japan!
They changed ALL of the music from the original Food Network broadcasts. Other than that, it is just the same FN shows.
ReplyDeleteIf you want to watch Iron Chef, come visit us at the Iron Chef Collection. We're an Iron Chef fan site that has searchable database of episodes to download or watch online. We will eventually have about 95% of the episodes that aired on Food Network. (We already have more episodes in our video database than Fine Living has listed on their website.) We even have a couple of Japanese language episodes not aired in North America. Come check us out.

Now I'm the opposite. I can't get into the original IC shows. The ingredients tend to be way too out there and weird. And if it is a "i would use that" ingredient, it's often used in a way I never would. I prefer the americanized recipes.
ReplyDeleteI only wish Julia Child could have participated in the Iron Chef.
ReplyDeleteI would love to see her raise that big cleaver over her head and chase Bobby Flay around the room.
I thought I dreamt that last night. I'm so glad it's back. I'm not a big fan of the new one. I used to watch Iron Chef like it was my job. Not so much for the new one.
